Police sergeant shoots his son 4 times for drinking his vodka and replacing it with water

A police sergeant became extremely angry with his son for drinking his vodka and replacing it with water, according to police in Illinois. Chicago police said that they have arrested 48-year-old Raymond Leuser after being accused of shooting his 22-year-old son 4 times. Leuser has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery discharge of a firearm.
Leuser was booked into jail and he is being held without bail.
Judge John Fitzgerald Lyke Jr. ordered Leuser to stay away from his son. Indian Head Park Police Department said that Leuser, who was the second highest ranking officer in the department, was placed on unpaid leave.
According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded at around 2:30 a.m., on Tuesday.
Leuser went to a nearby 7-Eleven, where he bought pizza, popcorn, and bottles of Smirnoff vodka. At some point, the police sergeant’s son drank the vodka and replaced it with water. The son, who lived in the basement of his father’s home located in the 6200 block of South Nashville Avenue, walked into the kitchen to get something to eat. Leuser was in the kitchen as well and walked over to his son. He yelled and shot his son in the stomach, arms, and shoulder. The victim was taken to the Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he is said to be in critical condition.
In court, Leuser claimed that he shot his son self-defense.
