Man pleads guilty to performing sex acts on his dog that was found with infection on genitals

A man was jailed after prosecutors said he was seen on video performing sex acts on at least one of his 8 Rottweilers. 31-year-old Stephen Matthew Taylor of Lakeside, Virginia, was arrested after police investigated his roommate, Craig Knox, 35, who was accused of taking part in a child sex ring that involved the alleged rape of a 9-year-old boy. P olice said they found 170 bestiality photos and videos, which included 10 of Taylor sexually abusing his dog, on a hard drive.
A veterinarian who examined one of Taylor’s pets found that one had an infection on its genitals and two of them were so sick they needed to be euthanized. Taylor denied the allegations that were leveled against him. He claimed that he was not the man who was seen in the video raping the dog. In court, Taylor entered an Alford plea, which means he doesn’t admit guilt but he acknowledged that prosecutors have enough evidence for a conviction. Taylor said that the only reason he agreed to the plea deal is that he knew that he cannot get a fair trial in Henrico County.
In his deal, Taylor admitted to a felony charge of inflicting pain and causing the death of an animal and a misdemeanor charge of animal cruelty. Henrico Circuit Judge James Stephen Yoffy called the acts “absolutely despicable.”
Taylor has been sentenced to 20 months in prison and he was banned from having animals.
