Man punches 2-year-old girl in the face because he wanted to watch television in peace


Man will spend many years behind bars after admitting to punching a young child in the face because he wanted to watch television, according to police in Ireland.
Portadown police said that they have arrested 29-year-old Darren Fagan, after being accused of punching the 2-year-old girls in the face because he wanted to watch The X Factor in peace. he X Factor is a British reality television music competition to find new singing talent. The contestants are aspiring singers drawn from public auditions. In court, Fagan pleaded guilty to one count of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. A judge sentenced him to 13 and a half years in prison followed by 9 years of probation.
According to the police investigation, Fagan wanted to watch The X Factor on television in his home, but the 2-year-old girl was crying and disturbing him.
Fagan punched the girl in the face, causing life changing brain injuries. The girl was the child of his partner, and she was home at the time of the assault. The girl was taken to the Daisy Hill Hospital, after feeling ill and vomiting. Doctors who examined the girl said that the child suffered multiple skull fractures and a brain hemorrhage. During questioning, Fagan admitted to punching the girl because he wanted to watch the reality TV show in peace.
