2 sanitation workers steal $90,000 in cash they found in garbage bags

Two sanitation workers who thought that they have struck it rich, found themselves behind bars on a charge of theft, according to police in Japan.
Fukushima Prefectural Police said that they have arrested the two sanitation workers, who were not identified, after they were caught stealing $90,000 in cash that they found in a garbage bag. According to the police investigation, the two garbage collectors were picking up the trash along their route when they discovered a large amount of cash, which was accidentally discarded.
They took the cash back to the sanitation department facility, where they counted the money. The workers then filed a report that they found $900 instead of the $90,000 they discovered. A supervisor noticed that the workers were in possession of a large amount of cash and called the police. So far, the owner of the cash has not been located. During questioning, the workers admitted to taking the cash, saying that they thought since they found it, the money belonged to them.
