International Church of Cannabis opens in Denver

On Thursday, the international Church of Cannabis opened in Denver. The church, a more than century-old building recently adorned with brightly colored paintings by the artists Kenny Scharf and Okuda San Miguel, welcomed the public early in the afternoon, at which time no cannabis consumption was allowed inside.  Steve Berke, CEO of Bangholdings.com, who owns the property said
"Elevationists are what we call our congregation," "An individual's spiritual journey and search for meaning is one of self discovery that can be heightened and deepened through ritual cannabis use."

By definition, Berke says this church is a real church, Fox news reports
"It's going to do all the things that churches do."
Plus one more: Allow the consumption of marijuana by invite only and for special events. "People who use cannabis as a sacrament for their own spiritual and religious purposes can come and feel safe that they're not going to be prosecuted or arrested for practicing their religion in peace," Berke said.
