Train designed to travel right through hole in 19-storey block of flats

A light railway track has been designed to run directly through a hole in a 19-storey block of flats in the city of Chongqing, China. The tunnel has been built through floors six to eight.
And if you’re worried about the noise, the building has been specially insulated and is said to be no louder than a dishwasher, according to Mail Online. Residents can conveniently hop on the Chongqing Rail Transit No.2 from the Liziba station located in the building.

The area, also known as Mountain City, is home to 49 million people who are packed into just 31,000 square miles of land, so this is a great way to solve space issues.
‘Our city is very heavily built upon and that can make finding room for roads and railway lines a real challenge,’ a city transport spokesman said.
