Stepmother gouges out 4-year-old boy’s eyes because he wet his bed

A stepmother allegedly gouged out the eyes of her four-year-old stepson because he wet the bed. The child, who has not been named, is believed to have wet his bed the night before he was allegedly attacked by his dad’s wife. The incident happened in the province of Masvingo, Central Zimbabwe. The woman reportedly admitted to the crime and was laughing about gouging his eyes out when police arrived.

She reportedly told police ‘he isn’t my child’ when officers questioned her motives.
Horrifying pictures taken of the boy show him sitting on the ground in bloodstained clothes, with his eye sockets full of tissue. It was not clear whether the boy’s father witnessed the alleged attack or whether the stepmother was under arrest. The case is believed to be ongoing.
