Pinterest added to list of social media sites banned in China

China has blocked Pinterest, one of the few social media sites accessible in the country. This comes after  Facebook, Twitter and many others were blocked in China. According to data from censorship monitoring organization GreatFire which checks a range of the internet’s top websites for accessibility in China ,Pinterest.com has been unavailable in China for the past seven days.
The Great Fire Wall, China’s internet censorship system, is prone to glitches and temporary blocks, but the fact that Pinterest has been inaccessible from China for a week now suggests that it has been very deliberately censored.
It is not known why the site popular for sharing images of animals, wedding dresses, recipes  would be deemed unfit for the country.
