Rescue workers were called to a Hong Kong shopping centre in Mong Kok, after a 45-metre-long escalator stopped and reversed at high speed on Saturday afternoon. In the footage below the shoppers lost their balance and were seen tumbling upon each other when the escalator started malfunctioning. According to reports, 18 people were injured in the incident, with one of them in a serious condition.
