Video: Tanzanian player collapses and dies on pitch after scoring a goal


Tanzanian football club, Mbao FC U-20 player, Ismail Mrisho Khalfan collapsed on the pitch and died while his team was playing against Mwadui FC in the Vodacom U-20 league on Sunday at the Kaitaba stadium in Bukoba, Tanzania.  TFF President, Jamal Malizni told supersport.com, “I regret to announce the sudden death of Ismail Mrisho.He collapsed on the pitch during an U20 league match today .He was a Mbao FC player and the game was between his team and Mwadui U20.The TFF Medical team is following up this sad event very closely.
"May Allah rest his soul in eternal peace.”
The player was buried on Monday according to Islamic rites. Kaitaba Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Bukoba, Tanzania. It is currently used mostly for football matches, on club level by Kagera Sugar of the Tanzanian Premier League. The stadium has a capacity of 5,000 spectators.
