Ecuador military plane crashes with 22 on-board


An army plane carrying Ecuadorian military personnel crashed Tuesday in the eastern Pastaza province, according to a statement from Ecuador's army. Twenty-two people were on board the training flight. President Rafael Correa said in a tweet that all 22 died. Nineteen of the people on board were Ecuadoran soldiers traveling for a parachuting exercise. The Israeli-built Arava plane crashed at 14:30 local time (19:30 GMT) in the eastern province of Pastaza. The cause of the accident is unknown.
