Toddler dies after choking on grape served in Pizza Hut restaurant

2-year-old Jacob Jenkins who choked to death on a piece of grape
Pizza Hut has reportedly stopped serving grapes in all is restaurants across UK after 2-year-old Jacob Jenkins died from choking on a piece of grape served in their Hartlepool branch. Jacob was said to have passed away in his parent’s arms.
A statement issued by the popular pizza chain today said: “As a mark of respect, and in light of the tragic death of Jacob Jenkins, we have removed grapes from our menu with immediate effect.
“The well-being of our guests is always our number one priority, and our hearts go out to his family.”
Jacob died at Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle with his distraught parents Abigail Wilson and David Jenkins. They chose to let him go as hundreds of locals gathered to release balloons in his memory.
Writing on Facebook last night, Abigail said: "Jacob grew his angel wings at 7pm as people let off their balloons.
"We chose this time to let him go as we knew everyone would be thinking of him and have him in their thoughts.
"There was nothing we could do. Jacob died in mine and his dad’s arms with his family by his side.
"We then went outside and released our own balloons."

The community of Hartlepool came together to release balloons in a vigil dedicated to Jacob's memory.
Jacob stopped breathing for around 30 minutes after the incident on Friday, while first aiders worked to remove the grape.
