William Lamberson, 29, from Florida faces charges of possession with intent to sell after he allegedly arranged to provide a Martin County Sheriff's narcotics detective with cocaine. The sting was set up after William mistakenly texted Capt. Brian Bergen about scoring some "green" to "smoke", the Huffington Post reports.Apparently, Lamberson thought he was texting his friend. WPEC reported that the phone number Lamberson dialled was off by a number.
"It turns out, Lamberson’s misdial connected him to someone who knows all too much about illegal drugs," the MCSO said on Facebook. After exchanging a few messages, the detective asks Lamberson if he can get him some cocaine. Lamberson assures the officer that he has "a solid connect." Police said they arranged to meet at a Jensen Beach pool hall on Sept. 1, but instead of meeting his text buddy, Lamberson was arrested by narcotics detectives.
Lamberson was confused and asked deputies where his buddy was, Bergen told WPBF.  The suspect showed up with 3 grams of cocaine and a pipe, WPEC reported.
"Not all drug dealers are the smartest people in the world, so we've had some pretty entertaining drug busts where it was too good to be true," Bergen told the station.
