9 year old dies from injuries sustained for eating a piece of cake

Jack Kirby, a 9 year old boy from Maryland has died in the hospital after sustaining injuries from his mother's boyfriend (pictured above) for eating a piece of cake without permission. It was reported that Jack was handcuffed and badly beaten, thus leading to wounds in his neck, face, back, buttocks, abdomen and legs. The police have stated that charges against Robert could be upgraded following the boy's death.
